Welcome to the new website for the construction of the new Cancun Cathedral!

Discover the New Cathedral of Cancun
The project was born as a call from God to build a worthy cathedral that will be the spiritual, pastoral, and charitable heart of Quintana Roo.
It will foster the faith of millions of people, unify society by inspiring everyone to the common good, care for future generations, shelter the most needy, evangelize thousands of visitors from around the world, and celebrate the natural beauty and historical legacy of our lands.
1. Celebration Center
It is the sacred space for the celebration of the sacraments and liturgical worship at the diocesan level. By incorporating the region's lush natural surroundings with elements of vernacular architecture, it will create an environment conducive to silence, meditation, prayer, and contemplation.

A Cathedral in the Jungle
The creation praises God with flowers and living plants that beautify the temple and elevate the soul to the Creator.

The Altar
The main altar is the heart of the celebratory center, where Heaven touches Earth in each Eucharist.

Chapel of Perpetual Adoration
A place of silence and living presence, open day and night to be with Jesus in the Eucharist.

Confessionals
Discreet and sacred spaces where all souls will encounter mercy and grace.

Crypts
Surrounded by gardens and bodies of water, the crypts honor the life and faith of all those who rest here.
2. Community Center
Following the example of the Good Samaritan who shows compassion, draws near, anoints, consoles, loads his mount, takes to the inn, and pays for everything necessary to heal the wounded found on the side of the road, the new cathedral has this space dedicated to caring for the neediest people and promoting the development of their talents so that they may be protagonists of their own destiny.

Bank of Medicines
There is a medicine bank for low-income people.

General Medical Service
We will have pediatric, ophthalmology, and general medicine consultations, as well as physical rehabilitation therapy.

Nutritionist, Psychologist, Legal Advice
People will have access to a wide variety of services for their comprehensive health.

Listening Center
It will be a designated space for individual and group care, such as Alcoholics Anonymous and more.

Migrant Shelter
It will have all the facilities to receive migrants during their temporary stay in Cancún, helping them stay off the streets and find their way.
3. Pastoral Center
It is dedicated to addressing the pastoral training needs of diocesan pastoral commissions and dimensions, as well as movements, apostolates, and ministries.

Convention Hall
It will have the capacity to host concerts, conferences, and pastoral events for up to 1,000 people, depending on the seating capacity.

Retreat Home
It will have the necessary facilities to host national and international retreats for up to 100 people: Ignatian retreats, weddings, youth retreats, and much more.

Pastoral Halls
It will have more than 30 rooms equipped with whiteboards, tables, chairs, projectors, and all necessary equipment.

Pastoral Co-working
It will be an area available for pastoral coordinators, groups, and apostolates to meet and work in a dignified and effective manner.
4. Cultural Center
An area dedicated to reflecting the natural beauty of our lands, exalting the state's historical religious legacy, promoting evangelization through the arts, and strengthening the community through healthy and safe coexistence.

Museum of Relics
Relics of Mexican and international saints will be on display, with the relic of the Holy Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ as its centerpiece.

Sacred Art Gallery
It allows us to evangelize through painting, sculpture and all types of arts.

Cinema Room
The community, especially young people, will find a selection of Catholic films within their reach that will allow them to deepen their faith.

Library
It will be a spacious and comfortable area where everyone will find the richness of our church's literature.

Services for Coexistence
The cathedral will be a vibrant space open seven days a week to all, offering services that make their stay easier, such as a cafeteria, restaurant, religious shop, and more.

Garden of the Stations of the Cross
5,000 m² designed to commemorate the Stations of the Passion, concluding at the 15th Station: the Empty Tomb. The garden will also feature Marian shrines and altars to saints.

Monumental Holy Cross
Erected in the center of an artificial cenote, it will measure more than 25 meters high and will be covered in flowers, symbolizing that it is a living cross.
